Men are from Mars, Wives are from..??

Wives are a mystery to their counterpart from Venus namely, husbands, always. Here's a guide to understand the kind of wife you are dealing with. There are 3 types of wives I have encountered. Well, that's the number of types I have figured out till now, maybe there are more left for me to discover.

The 1st type is the Kid. The one who depends on her husband for everything. The one who thinks it is her husband's duty for her well-being completely. If she is sad it is solely because of his ignorance or lack of understanding. I feel it is too much of a burden on one person and on a single relation.

The 2nd type is the Sensible. The one who will do all the correct things She is the one who will keep his family, his dog happy. All things in their room will be what he likes, they both like or she likes & he doesn't mind.

The 3rd type is the Rebel. She is an individual in her own right which her partner might find it difficult to deal with, at some times. But, she will be the person he will be secretly proud of. She is who she is, unapologetically. This does not mean that she does not try or doesn't adjust, it's just that it should be because she wants to and not because she is expected to.

She's a badass with a good heart, soft but strong, unapologetic and honest. She's the type of woman you go to war beside, the type of woman you marry.:

Lovingly
A Wife
Type- Let me husband figure out that one..;)

From the pages of an Indian career woman/wife's diary.

22nd December

Sitting in a doctors chamber, I can't help and wonder that Indians sure are a rare breed. On one hand I see a gentlemen taking appointments for 3 persons at one go in spite of various patients waiting before him in the chamber and in the other, see a sari clad aunt discuss her life's troubles with a complete stranger with utmost honesty.

"He completes me" reads a post on a friends page on facebook. It has me wondering into the depths of this complete feeling which all couples long for.I very strongly feel that it is very important to be a good individual before you can be someone's better half. It is important to be happy alone before you write your happily ever after story. What do I mean when I say all this ?
I mean that as a person if I don't feel complete and competent I can never help in generating that feeling in someone else. On that note, would add I have my share of bad days too when my husband bears the brunt of my disappointments & failures. You need to retrospect on your actions when you feel unhappy and not blame your partner.

Well, my opinions for the books I read.

The Hunger Games

The book was all it promised to be : a thriller till the end with the right amount of drama in the story to keep you hooked to the pages. It is a perfect story of good triumphing over the evil .It starts from a small district in Panem , North America and takes you to Capitol the richest district in the area where all the action begins. A race to death for 12 contenders from different districts who don't just have to outrun each other but death too !

The Better Half

The Better Half

She buried her ears into the calm of his heartbeat, and in a matter of seconds fell terribly in love with the way her loneliness fell softly and suddenly, asleep in his chest - Christopher Poindexter

Marriage- its a very innocent word which hides a deep meaning which you only understand when you are married. As soon as you enter the threshold of your new home, things change forever. You unlearn and then learn, in this process you can either become really fond of your new family members or distance yourself forever from them. This is where your better half can handhold you, make the process smooth for you and impact the relationship you share with your new family. He needs to be the guy who keeps on telling you all is well, when you feel lost in the new surroundings. Mind it, its all new for him too, living with a 'brand new wife' can scare the living daylights out of anyone. The experience of living with your partner is something which cannot be penned down and should be lived. It is like you are living your happily ever after and finding out what actually happens when you close that last page of your fairytale when the prince marries the princess. The journey is on, I am learning each day, loving my new family a little more each day...and a new story begins..

P.S: All the side effects of marriage you have heard about are true..;P

I miss...

I miss
The could have beens...
The journeys I didn't go for..
The breathtaking views I didn't see...
The interesting people I didn't meet..
The conversations I didn't have..
The delicacies I didn't taste..
The rains which didn't drench me from head to toe..
The ocean waters which didn't lap at my feet..
The snow which didn't force me to stay indoors..
The path which didn't stretch endlessly in front of me..
The love I didn't share..
I wish....
And I miss..

Confessions...

Being with him is accepting him completely.

When his is the first name that comes to your mind when you hear something really good or something really bad.

When you say what he wants to say just by reading his silence.

When his big day is a bigger day for you.

When he cares for you in more ways than one can ever think of.

It includes letting him go, if he is yours he will come back.

There is something that holds you to him forever- an inexplicable bond stronger than the strongest.

When love for him shows you the way in an otherwise very dark road.

When u put ur hand ahead for the phone and instead he places his hand on yours.  :-)

When there comes a time in your relation where faith is all you got and all you need to go ahead.

When u trust like u have never trusted anyone else ever.

When he is the best at your worst.

When he glares at you for doing something wrong and u feel he has never loved you more.

New friendships, new loves...

There is just something about new friendships. They remind you of all good things that ever was in life. It's like a new beginning,a clean slate to write the best story ever written and another chance to a" happily ever after". Just like new love, when you feel that the world is a happy place and there is a smile on your face always irrespective of your situation.

I Miss....

In the daily routines of our lives, we stop doing what we want to do and just do what we need to do. The non stop staring at our office laptops keeps us away from the calm that used to fill us while staring at a starlit sky , sitting somewhere on a bench, in a park. The various appointments that fill our day planners does not include the most important appointment which we fail to keep almost everyday- with our self. The non stop ringing of your phone reminds you that you have not spoken to various loved ones since a long time. The weekdays just pass in a haze and the weekends comes by which is like a big celebration of " Its not a weekday". Thus, another week begins. In all this I sit and wonder what is missing? The answer which I get is that I miss the time which I spent with myself , I miss the joys of learning or discovering something new and I miss my favorite pastime, of all times- reading and writing.I miss.....

P.S:  The good thing is that this note is a sign that I have one less thing to miss now. :)

And the season of festivals begin...:)

The smell in the air, the urgency in the walk of  pedestrians, the happy smiles on the faces of shoppers on getting the best buy. Even when you are stuck in a traffic jam, there is an indulgent smile and a remark that this jams will be there till Pujas. While moving around the city in every other lane, you find a pandal in the making- a half made marble place, a hut and hundreds of other creations which leaves you baffled and builds up your anticipation, as to what will  the final outcome be like?. The other day, when we were driving around the city, a friend remarked that she loves the fragrance  of "Palash" flowers in the air during the Puja Season which made me realize that I was thinking the same thing and enjoying the fragrance. Everyone loves this feeling that Durga Maa is coming and bringing loads of joy and smiles for all of us. So much so that we forget every worry and  revel in the moment and find it difficult to bid farewell to Maa at the end of the auspicious 9 days.

May Maa bless you
with all her blessings and
keep you happy through-out the year!
Wishing you a Happy Durga Puja

You and me...

Kindle in hand, sheets drawn up to chin and a famous romantic Bollywood number playing in the background suddenly made me think - Is that really what love is all about?. Where you feel that the sun rises and sets with your lover ? Well, I don't exactly think so I wouldn't want the sun for me to rise and set with him, though I wouldn't mind enjoying the view with him sitting beside me. So what is it for me then? I get the answer that it would be a relation where there is companionship and complete understanding among the partners, such that no soulful renditions would be required, just a look or smile would be enough. Though the romantic in me does agree that some amount of romanticism wouldn't go amiss and could help him to earn a few brownie points. ;)

Days in Room No: 607

The sun comes up...It’s a bright morning and we roommates wake up in phases.  We- Shruti, Minu and me. Shruti- with whom you cannot say whether she is meditating after getting up or just sitting and sleeping with her eyes closed. Minu- who is up from God knows when and been upto God knows what... ;) .And as for me- always the last one to get up, though Shruti has recently started giving me competition..Humph!. As for the turns in bathroom, it’s always been a fight between me and Shruti with Minu lording over us after having had her share and she never fails to give her condolences to the loser. Who has more classes’ competition is always on in our room with Minu and Shruti ganging up against me. I used to end up with more classes always but I got my sweet revenge during exams.:) Thanks to subjects like Derivatives and SAPM.

The days in our room could never be complete without special mention of our neighbours ( Nidhi and Pujal) who dropped in frequently and then we actually become like the “Hum Saath Saath Hai” family who eats together and stays together. Actually, if there is ever a tagline for our room, it would be – “It’s all about loving food”. Oh! How can I forget? Special thanks to Raghav Wate for special appearance on Skype..;)

I miss my room and more importantly my roommates. Love ya guys...These wonderful days will always be missed.

At Crossroads

My journey brought me to a crossroad
There were two ways ahead for me..
One was completely unknown, not treaded on
I was very scared to venture on that one
It would be like starting all over again
But then it called out for me with the promise
Of taking me away from it all.

The second one was not new
It leads me to things far and few
This was the more difficult one to walk on..
Carrying the burdens accumulated all along
But the virtuous one which a responsible traveler would take
There could be that rainbow with the pot of treasure at the end,
If I walked on this road far enough
But the obstacles on the way would require a lot of valor.

So what is it going to be?
Adventure or Virtue
Abandon or Patience of seeing it through?
New or old things far and few?
The little delights along the way or the treasure at the end?
